Adults – Medication Assisted Treatment Services

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is the use of prescription medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a whole-person approach to the treatment of
specific substance use disorders (SUD). Research shows that a combination of MAT and behavioral therapies is a successful method to treat SUD. In particular, opioid and alcohol dependence have well-established medication options.
MAT services include Narcotic Treatment Program (NTP) services provided in NTPĀ
licensed settings. NTPs offer and prescribe medication to patients covered under the Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System (DMC-ODS) formulary including;

  • Methadone
  • Buprenorphine
  • Naloxone
  • Disulfiram
  • Naltrexone

Not sure if you need narcotic treatment services? Contact the Screening Assessment and Referral Center to help you find the treatment that is right for you.
