2014 Morongo Basin Project Connect

The Morongo Basin Project Connect was held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the Sportsman’s Club in Joshua Tree. MB Haven partnered with us and provided several volunteers who helped to make it a successful event. There were 35 vendors in attendance, providing such services as medical screenings, haircuts, legal assistance, and much more. Morongo Basin Transit Authority donated bus passes that were used by residents of surrounding communities. Lunch was provided to the community by Hero Catering Company of Yucca Valley. There were approximately 150 attendees, but over 300 people were served by the event. Third District Supervisor James Ramos was also in attendance and said a few words at the opening of the event.

2013 San Bernardino Project Connect

The San Bernardino Project Connect was held at The Rock Church and World Outreach on Tuesday, October 1, from 10 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. There were over 50 vendors who provided such services as haircuts, medical screenings, dental screenings for children 5 and under, a clothing closet, and many more services. Lunch, provided by Subway, was free to all attendees. An invocation was given by Pastor Joel Alvarado and Fifth District Supervisor Josie Gonzales was also in attendance with words of welcome and encouragement for all participants.
