THIS MEETING WILL BE CONDUCTED PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS IN THE GOVERNOR’S EXECUTIVE ORDER N-25-20 DATED MARCH 17, 2020, WHICH SUSPENDS CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS OF THE RALPH M. BROWN ACT.
What is the Behavioral Health Commission (BHC)?
The Behavioral Health Commission (BHC) shall advise the Board of Supervisors and Director of Behavioral Health on aspects of local behavioral health programs. The Behavioral Health Commission shall also review the Annual County Behavioral Health Services Performance Contract, evaluate community behavioral health needs, services and facilities; and approve procedures for citizen and professional involvement in the planning process. An annual report shall be submitted to the Board of Supervisors. The Behavioral Health Commission shall make recommendations regarding the appointment of a local director of behavioral health services and shall assess the impact services delivered to clients and on the local community. The Behavioral Health Commission shall also review and comment on the County’s performance outcome data and communicate its findings to the California Mental Health Planning Council.
