5150 Certification Training

San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health is excited to announce upcoming 5150 Certification Training sessions. This course will provide an opportunity to learn about California Welfare and Institutions Code (WIC) 5150 regarding involuntary psychiatric hospitalization and the changes resulting from Senate Bill 43 (SB43).
We welcome qualified professionals who wish to become certified hold writers, recertified or simply learn about the changes from SB43 to register for the course.

*Please note that if you currently hold active certification status you are not required to attend this course to retain your certification, however you may attend the course as an observer so that you can learn about the changes resulting from SB43.

This training covers the requirements for eligible professionals to become certified 5150/5585 hold writers. The course includes comprehensive instruction regarding the legal guidelines governing Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) 5150/5585 hold writing. Learners are required to successfully pass an examination and submit additional documentation before certification can be validated.
