DESCRIPTION:LivingWorks ASIST Workshop – In‑Person Only\nA two-day\, in-person Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) workshop designed to teach participants how to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide and how to intervene effectively. Delivered by certified LivingWorks trainers\, this evidence-based program equips learners—regardless of background—with the knowledge\, skills\, and confidence to provide compassionate\, skilled intervention during moments of crisis. \nWorkshop Highlights:\nRecognize signs: Identify when someone may be thinking about suicide\nCommunicate effectively: Learn to ask about suicide directly and listen with empathy and without judgment\nDevelop safety plans: Collaboratively create personalized safety plans to support individuals in crisis\nConnect to care: Link individuals to further resources and ongoing support within the community\nEngaging training method: Features real-life conversations\, group practice\, role-plays\, and trainer-led reflection \nDuration & Format:\nTwo full days\, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day\nStrictly face-to-face-online delivery is not available for this workshop\nStrictly face-to-face—online delivery is not available for this workshop \nEligibility & Audience:\nOpen to anyone aged 16 and older; no previous experience or professional mental health background required\nIdeal for community members\, educators\, service providers\, faith leaders\, first responders\, and more \nCapacity:\nLimited number of participants to ensure personalized attention and effective skill development \nWhy It Matters:\nASIST is widely regarded as the gold-standard suicide prevention program—rooted in over 40 years of research and training global communities to become part of a “Network of Safety”. \nRegister here \nFor more information\, contact the Office of Suicide Prevention at DBH-OSP@dbh.sbcounty.gov or call (909) 387-6221.
