{"id":31812,"date":"2024-01-10T11:16:47","date_gmt":"2024-01-10T18:16:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.sbcounty.gov\/dbh\/?page_id=31812"},"modified":"2025-01-15T08:13:43","modified_gmt":"2025-01-15T16:13:43","slug":"ansa","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wp.sbcounty.gov\/dbh\/ansa\/","title":{"rendered":"ANSA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Adult Needs &amp; Strengths Assessment (ANSA)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"wp-block-isd-layout\"><div class=\"isd-background-fixed-max-width-container\"><div class=\"isd-layout-content-wrapper\" style=\"max-width:1748px;margin-bottom:0rem;margin-top:0rem;padding-bottom:3.75rem;padding-top:3.75rem\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-isd-row large-75-25 desktop-75-25 desktop-order-1-2 tablet-75-25 tablet-order-1-2 mobile-100-100 mobile-order-1-2 frontend ctnrQueryRow\" style=\"margin-bottom:0rem;margin-top:0rem\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-isd-column\">\n<p>DBH is happy to be utilizing a countywide standardized assessment tool as the DBH continuum of care works together to meet the needs of adult consumers and their families through the use of a strengths-based, needs-driven approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Adult Needs &amp; Strengths Assessment \u2013 San Bernardino County (ANSA-SB) is a comprehensive assessment tool used throughout the United States by organizations and individuals to communicate treatment needs and progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The ANSA-SB is a multi-purpose tool developed for adult behavioral health services that focuses on a consumer\u2019s primary needs and strengths.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ANSA-SB is a tool used to communicate with the consumer, family, and treatment team about progress and goals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ANSA-SB is a decision support tool that tracks consumer progress and changes to better determine appropriate level of care for consumer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ANSA-SB helps to facilitate quality improvement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ANSA-SB ensures that consumer strengths and needs are incorporated in the plan of care.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ANSA-SB is used as an outcome measure to track changes through the adult system of care.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Completion Timelines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The ANSA-SB items are incorporated into the Adult Clinical Assessment, so new clients to DBH shall have the initial ANSA-SB completed by the time the clinical assessment is finalized.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Updates to ANSA-SB shall be made either every three (3) months or every six (6) months, depending upon the intensity of the program serving the client.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Typically, Full Service Partnerships are considered to be intensive and complete updates every three (3) months<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All updates are completed within Objective Arts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At discharge, an ANSA-SB must be completed unless one has been completed within the preceding 30 days and there are no additional changes in the scores.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In no case shall a period of more than six (6) months pass without an ANSA-SB being completed unless the client has not been consistent in accessing care.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All Update and Discharge ANSAs shall be completed in Objective Arts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Training<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Clinical Staff Pathway<\/em><br \/>Step 1: CANS\/ANSA Certification<br \/>In order to attend TCOM training, you must first complete an online CANS or ANSA certification course and pass the course certification exam with the Praed Foundation at&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.schoox.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.schoox.com<\/a>. When you are ready to take the online CANS or ANSA certification exam, please send an email to the Workforce Education &amp; Training general mailbox at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:DBHTraining@dbh.sbcounty.gov\">DBHTraining@dbh.sbcounty.gov<\/a>&nbsp;requesting a TCOM coupon code. This code will allow you to bypass the fee normally charged by the vendor for the course. &nbsp;It will arrive with instructions on its use and accessing the correct course material. &nbsp;If you have not completed this step within 24 hours of your TCOM training, you will be unenrolled from the session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Step 2: TCOM Training<br \/>Attend a monthly TCOM training led by DBH staff. &nbsp;Register via&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dbh.training.reliaslearning.com\/Learning\/Catalog.aspx?CourseCode=DBH-TCOM\">Relias<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Step 3: Objective Arts Basic Training<br \/>Option 1: &nbsp;Attend a monthly Objective Arts Basic training led by DBH staff. &nbsp;Register via&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dbh.training.reliaslearning.com\/Learning\/Catalog.aspx?CourseCode=DBH-OA-BASIC\">Relias<\/a>.<br \/>Option 2: Work with your Objective Arts Subject Matter Expert to complete the practice activity provided within one week of attending TCOM training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Support Staff<\/em><br \/>Attend a monthly Objective Arts Basic training led by DBH staff.
