MCAH Mission
The San Bernardino County Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH) Program’s mission is to improve health outcomes of the County’s reproductive age women, infants, children, adolescents and their families.
MCAH Vision
MCAH believes and strives to shape a future San Bernardino County in which:
- All children are wanted, nurtured and provided the assistance they need to mature into healthy, productive adults
- Young adults are involved in health promoting activities and acquire the skills as adults to build strong families and communities
- Women’s and families’ health, safety and well-being throughout life are a priority
- Health disparities by racial, ethnic, geographic area and economic status have been eliminated
MCAH Priorities
- Breastfeeding promotion and support
- Increase rate of tobacco cessation among pregnant women
- Improve pregnancy outcomes, including low birth weight and prematurity rates
- Reduce rate of SIDS and promote a safe sleep environment
