SUSPECT(S): Joseph Parker, age 34 a resident of
Apple Valley
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, February 26th at
approximately 10:00 a.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Station responded to
reports of a male at St. Timothy’s Preparatory School and Christian Academy
attempting to contact students and behaving strangely. The subject was said to
have an unknown ”shiny” object in his hand and was carrying a backpack.
Sergeant Jim Evans arrived within minutes and contacted Joseph Parker. Parker
was found to possess two very large knives and a quantity of suspected
methamphetamine. He was detained without incident.
Sergeant Evans noted the school staff did an
excellent job ensuring the safety of the students while relaying important
information about the suspect. Although Parker had entered school property and
parking lots, he was never allowed to enter the secure areas where the children
play and learn.
Joseph Parker was arrested for possession of
methamphetamine and possession of weapons at a school. He was booked at the
