LOCATION: Chino Hills High School
SUSPECT(S): Unknown
VICTIM(S): Several Juvenile Students
SUMMARY:
On March 21, 2019, deputies and detectives from the Chino Hills Police Department were notified of a threatening message posted on social media involving students from Chino Hills High School.
Investigators determined the message was posted from a fraudulently created “spoofed” account. The account used the name and photograph of a Chino Hills High School student. The message was made to appear as if the threat came from the student. An extensive investigation showed the student was not involved in creating the account or posting the message.
After learning about the message and fraudulent account, the social media outlet was contacted, and the account was immediately removed.
Investigators believe the threat was not credible and are continuing to determine its origin.
