INCIDENT: Death Investigation
LOCATION: 9500 Etiwanda Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga (West Valley Detention Center)
VICTIM: Robert Molina, age 64, a resident of San Bernardino
SUMMARY:
On Monday, June 4, 2018 at approximately 10:40 am, Robert Molina, who was an inmate at West Valley Detention Center, was found unresponsive in his cell. Medical aid was immediately initiated by deputies and medical personnel from the West Valley Detention Center responded and took over lifesaving measures. Molina was transported by ambulance to Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Fontana, where he was pronounced deceased at 11:38 am.
Molina was housed alone in his cell.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail responded to conduct a death investigation.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.
