INCIDENT:        Assault with A Deadly Weapon

Benjamin Tebay, 39-year-old male, Resident of Morongo

SUMMARY: On Sunday, September 2, 2018, at 6:30 p.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s station responded to the 9300 block of Rose Eden Drive regarding a report of domestic violence.

During the investigation deputies learned Benjamin Tebay and the victim were involved in a verbal argument. Tebay escalated the argument and began physically assaulting the victim. The victim suffered major injuries to her face and a loss of consciousness. When the victim regained consciousness, Tebay, was pointing a firearm at her and threatened to kill her.

Responding deputies took Tebay into custody without incident. The firearm was located and taken as evidence. Tebay was arrested and booked at West Valley Detention Center, for Assault with A Deadly Weapon (firearm) and Criminal Threats. Tebay’s bail was set at $50,000.00.
