INCIDENT: H&S 11379 (a) – Transportation of Narcotics for Sales
LOCATION: N. Landers Lane & Reche Road, Landers
SUSPECT(S): Eric Sponholtz , 47-year-old resident of Yucca Valley
SUMMARY: : On Monday, August 26, 2019, at about 11:40 p.m., Deputy Singh conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet Tahoe which had an inoperable license plate light. As Singh was attempting to stop the vehicle, the driver later identified as Eric Sponholtz, threw a plastic bag from the vehicle. The vehicle yielded shortly after and Singh detained Sponholtz and recovered the bag he threw from the vehicle, which contained approximately 1/2 lb of methamphetamine. Sponholtz was also found to be in possession of a large amount of money consistant with narcotic sales and was arrested for H&S 11379(a) – Transportation of Controlled Substance for Sales. Sponholtz was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
