INCIDENT:      Proactive Traffic Enforcement/ DUI Saturation Patrol

LOCATION:    Town of Yucca Valley, City of Twentynine Palms



On Friday and Saturdays, during the month of December, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Morongo Basin Station, conducted proactive traffic enforcement/ DUI saturation patrol, in the town of Yucca Valley, and the city of Twentynine Palms. The traffic deputies were added in addition to the regularly assigned patrol deputies. Over the eight-day period, deputies conducted 226 citizen contacts, 131 of those stops resulted in traffic citations, which included moving and equipment violations. Three vehicles were towed for expired registration and unlicensed drivers. 33 arrests were made for driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, driving without a license, driving on a suspended license, possession of controlled substances, possession of narcotics, possession of false registration tabs, failure to yield, drunk in public, resisting arrest, and outstanding arrest warrants. possession of narcotics, providing false information to a peace officer, and warrants.
