INCIDENT: Recovered Stolen Vehicle

LOCATION: Pinon Drive and Cardillo Trail, Town of Yucca Valley

SUSPECT(S): Unknown

VICTIM(S): Confidential

SUMMARY: On May 13, 2018, at 5:10 a.m., a patrol deputy was driving east on Twentynine Palms Highway near Camino Del Cielo when he observed a stolen vehicle pass him traveling westbound. The deputy turned to follow the vehicle.  The driver of the stolen vehicle accelerated and fled, turning off the highway onto Pinon Drive. Deputies found the vehicle abandoned and the driver had fled on foot in an unknown direction. Deputies conducted a thorough area check but were unable to locate the suspect. The stolen truck was recovered and released to the victim at the scene. The truck had a stolen Suzuki motorcycle in the bed, belonging to a separate victim which was also released at the scene.
