INCIDENT:                  Stolen Vehicle Recovered

LOCATION:                Motel 6, 29 Palms.

SUSPECTS:              Scott McMillan, age 50 a resident of Bloomington



On Tuesday, January 08, 2019, at approximately 03:45 am, Deputy Robles from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Morongo Basin Station conducted a proactive vehicle check in the parking lot of Motel 6 in the city of 29 Palms.

Deputy Robles observed a Beige-colored SUV in violation of California Vehicle Code 4000 (a) (1) expired registration. A record check of the vehicle revealed it was a stolen vehicle from the city of Highland, CA. The vehicle was occupied by the two subjects, Scott McMillan and a male adult passenger.  McMillan had an arrest warrant related to the stolen vehicle and, was also found to be on probation for felony evading of a peace officer and prior involvements for vehicle theft. McMillan was arrested and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail for a warrant for his arrest regarding the stolen vehicle.  The passenger was not arrested, and the vehicle was returned to its rightful owner.
