INCIDENT: Man with a Gun Call at Needles High School / HS 11377(a)- Possession of Methamphetamine
LOCATION: Needles High School
SUSPECT(S): Marc Green, 39-year-old resident of Needles
On Friday, November 30, 2018 at 1:00 pm, The Needles Police Department received a call of a man with a firearm walking across the Needles High School Football Field towards Eagle Pass Road. Needles Police notified school officials of the call and deputies immediately arrived and began the search for the suspect. The suspect,Marc Green was located by deputies walking towards Eagle Pass Road from the area of the high school carrying what appeared to be a rifle. Green was taken into custody and the “rifle” was found to be several pieces of pipe and other miscellaneous items taped together. Through the course of the investigation, Green was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and additionally had three misdemeanor warrants for drug related charges with a total bail amount of $70,000.00.
Green was booked into the Colorado River Station Jail for HS 11377(a), Possession of Methamphetamine and the three drug related warants.
During this incident the school was placed on lockdown by school officials for a short period of time as a precaution until it was determined that there was no threat to the school.
