INCIDENT: HS 11370.1(A)- Possession of a Controlled Substance while armed with a Firearm

LOCATION: North K. Street/Front Street, Needles, CA

SUSPECT(S): Justin Gilbert, age 37 a resident of Mohave Valley, Az

VICTIM(S): State of California

SUMMARY: On June 10th , 2018, at approximately 10:50 am, deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of North K. Street and Front Street, in the City of Needles. Deputies made contact with the driver later identified as Justin Gilbert. During a consent search of the vehicle deputies located a loaded handgun. Gilbert was also found to be in possession of approximately a half ounce of methamphetamine. Gilbert was arrested for possession of a controlled substance while armed with a firearm and transported to the Needles Jail.
