Incident:     Fatal Plane Crash

The pilot killed in the plane crash near San Antonio Heights on Tuesday has been identified as:
Stephen Lassetter, 66 years old, resident of Upland

On Tuesday, November, 22, 2016 at 4:52 a.m. Fontana deputies responded to an area check north of San Antonio Heights. The caller was concerned when he was unable to contact the pilot of a single engine Piper Cherokee that left Cable Airport and was enroute to Riverside. Deputies with LA Sheriff’s Department air unit arrived in the area and found the plane crashed into the hillside. LASD deputies hiked to the crash site and found a single fatality.
It was determined that the crash occurred in San Bernardino County and San Bernardino Sheriff’s Aviation responded to conduct an investigation. NTSB and FAA were advised.
Coroner Investigators recovered the victim from the scene.
