INCIDENT: Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Residential Burglary, Elder Abuse and Parole Violation

LOCATION: 24600 block of 6th. St. San Bernardino

VICTIM: Confidential Senior Citizen

SUSPECT: Antonio Martinez Tellez, 34 year old resident of San Bernardino


On Saturday morning, September 3, 2016, at approximately 11:54 am, the victim, who is a senior citizen, called 911 for help. The victim said he was attacked by Antonio Tellez, who tried to stab him in the face.


The victim was overpowered by Tellez at his door and he ran to his bedroom. Tellez ran after him and tried to stab him again in the face. The victim was able to dial 911 from his cell phone, and Tellez ran from his house.


Deputies from the Central Station responded to the house to help the victim. The victim was able to provide information to identify the suspect.


Tellez was located approximately one block away, in a resident’s front yard. He was taken into custody without incident. He was booked at the Central Detention Center and his parole was violated.Tellez is an active gang member with an extensive violent criminal history recently released from prison on parole for Assault with a Deadly Weapon.


Residents are encouraged to be aware of their surroundings in their neighborhood. They should keep their doors and windows secure at all times and call the police when suspicious subjects are near their home.
