INCIDENT: PC 245 Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Firearm)
LOCATION: 1900 block of Adams Street, Muscoy
SUSPECT(S): Jose Diaz (37), San Bernardino resident

Summary
On September 18, 2016, at approximately 3:17 p.m., Deputies G. Nicassio, L. Sandoval and B. Ortiz, from the Sheriff’s Central Station, responded to the 1900 block of Adams Street to a call of shots being fired. When deputies arrived, witnesses said the driver of the sedan, later identified as Jose Diaz, shot a handgun at the victim’s feet. Deputies located Diaz’ vehicle in the 2500 block of Ogden Street. As deputies approached the residence, they saw Diaz run out from behind the home. After a brief foot pursuit, Diaz was taken into custody. Witnesses positively identified Diaz as the suspect in the shooting.
Deputies searched Diaz’ vehicle and found a semi-automatic handgun that was used in the shooting. At Diaz’s home deputies found a rifle with a sawed-off barrel and approximately one pound of processed marijuana. Diaz was arrested and booked into Central Detention Center for PC 245 Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Firearm).
