INCIDENT: Missing 76-year-old Alzheimer’s Patient Located
LOCATION: 25383 Cole Street, Loma Linda
VICTIM: Albert Bloom, 76 years old, Loma Linda
Summary
On September 28, 2016 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Bloom walked out of Linda Valley Care Center in Loma Linda. Bloom is an Alzheimer’s patient and requires medications. An extensive area search was conducted by responding deputies for several hours with negative results in locating Bloom. The search included the assistance of the Sheriff’s Aviation Division and a Sheriff’s Canine.
An unidentified good Samaritan picked Bloom up at an undetermined street in the City of Loma Linda and dropped him off at the Emergency Room at Loma Linda University Medical Center between 9:30 and 10:00 p.m. Registered Nurses Josh Gaal and Lisa Hanson recognized Bloom from a photograph provided to them by Deputy Leon. Linda Valley Care Center was contacted regarding their findings. Leon made contact with Bloom and positively identified him, then drove Bloom back to Linda Valley Care Center where he was reunited with his eagerly awaiting family members.
