INCIDENT: Assault with a Deadly Weapon/ Stabbing

LOCATION: 2000 Block of W. Mesa Street, Muscoy

SUSPECT(S): Luis Cantu, 42 year old resident of Muscoy

VICTIM(S): Confidential


At approximately 8:30 pm, deputies went to the 2000 Block of West Mesa Street for a stabbing. The victim had several stab wounds, and knew the suspect. The suspect was identified as Luis Cantu. The victim and Cantu got into a verbal argument that led to Cantu stabbing the victim with a knife. Cantu is a convicted sex offender who is currently on parole. The victim was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of his injuries. Cantu was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center.
