INCIDENT: Possession of Stolen Credit Cards, Identity Theft, Items Related to Manufacturing Counterfeit Credit Cards, Checks and Currency, and Items Related to the Sales of Methamphetamine LOCATION: Hampton Inn, Highland SUSPECT(S): Aspen Hartman, 30 year old resident of Redondo Beach George Perng, 38 year old resident of Laguna Woods VICTIM(S): Confidential
Summary
Deputies C. Ortiz and P. Leon conducted a follow-up investigation regarding a credit card which was fraudulently used to obtain cash. The investigation led to contact being made with suspects at the Hampton Inn. The room was found to be rented using a fraudulent credit card and fictitious identification. Contact was made with the occupants and Hartman was found to be on formal probation with search terms. The room was subsequently searched due to the terms and condition of her probation and with the authorization of hotel management. The following items were located subsequent to the search: numerous stolen credit cards, items related to identity theft, items related to manufacturing counterfeit checks and currency, thousands of dollars of counterfeit currency, and items related to the sales of methamphetamine were located. Hartman and Perng were booked into Central Detention Center.
