Incident:  Carjacking/Robbery/ Dependent Adult Abuse

Location:  2400 Block of Kern Street, Muscoy

Suspect(s):  Erin House, 28-year-old resident of Riverside

Victim(s):  Confidential

Summary

At approximately 5:42 pm, a male subject, later identified as Erin House, flagged down a bus driver who was driving a bus which specializes in handicapped and disabled patrons. House forced his way onto the bus and demanded the driver assist him. The bus was also occupied by one disabled passenger. The disabled passenger tried to stop House from getting all the way on the bus. House forced his way past the disabled passenger and assaulted the female bus driver. House stole the driver’s wallet out of her purse. The driver and disabled passenger were able to exit the bus safely. House used the keys which were still in the ignition to drive off in the bus. House drove the bus for several blocks until he collided with a parked vehicle. House was able to continue driving after the collision until the bus reached the end of Kern Street where it dead ends. House was quickly apprehended with the assistance of concerned citizens and deputies from the Central Station. Neither the bus driver or the disabled passenger sustained any injuries and denied medical treatment. House was transported to the West Valley Detention Center for booking purposes. CHP officers from the San Bernardino Office responded to handle the traffic collision report.
