Crime or Incident: Failure to Yield and Driving Under the Influence of Drugs

Location: Chino Hills Parkway and the 71Freeway Chino Hills

Suspect: Robin Antonino Luna, 40 years of age, resident of Pomona

Summary

On Saturday, June 4, 2016, at aproximately 12:01 a.m., a deputy from the Chino Hills Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a reported reckless driver. The driver of the vehicle failed to yield to deputies despite the use of lights and sirens. The suspect driver led deputies on a vehicle pursuit which drove through San Bernardino, Los Angeles, and Riverside Counties. The suspect, who was identified as Robin Antonino Luna, a 40 year old resident of Pomona, ended the pursuit by colliding with freeway guardrails and crashing his vehicle into a tree on the south side of the freeway in Riverside County. Luna attempted to flee on foot, but was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. Luna was found to be under the influence of illegal narcotics.

Luna was arrested and booked at the West Valley Detention Center for failure to yield and driving under the influence.
