Crime or Incident: Grand Theft Auto, Theft, Identity Theft, and Conspiracy

 

Location: Chino Hills

 

Suspect(s):Travis Akins, 18 year old resident of Chino

 

Alexander Moreno, 19 year old resident of Eastvale

Summary

During the months of July and August of 2016, there were several reports of vehicle thefts and vehicle burglaries in the City of Chino Hills. During the investigation of these crimes, deputies and detectives from the Chino Hills Police/Sheriff’s Station were able to identify two suspects involved; 18 year old Travis Akins of Chino and 19 year old Alexander Moreno of Eastvale. It was determined Akins and Moreno were responsible for conspiring to commit vehicle burglaries, vehicle thefts, and identity thefts in the cities of Chino Hills, Chino, Ontario, Pomona, and Yorba Linda areas while driving a white Ford F-150 with no front bumper.

 

On Tuesday, August 16, 2016, Akins was contacted at the Chino Hills Police/Sheriff’s Station where he was taken into custody.During the continued investigation, investigators recovered several items of stolen property from Akins’ vehicle. Akins was transported to the West Valley Detention Center and booked for grand theft auto, theft, conspiracy, and identity theft.
