SUSPECT(S): Juan Ornelas, age 38 a resident of Fontana
VICTIM(S): Baker’s Drive Thru
Summary
On July 18, 2016, at approximately 8:36 a.m., deputies from the Fontana Sheriff’s Station responded to the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred at the Bakers Drive-Thru on Valley Boulevard. Upon arrival, deputies were advised that a male subject, later identified as Juan Ornelas, had entered Baker’s with his shirt over his head holding a tire iron. The suspect slammed the tire iron on the counter and demanded the money from the registers. Employees complied with his request and he fled the location with an undisclosed amount of money.
Deputies were provided with the description of the suspects vehicle and a possible location. The vehicle was described as a dark colored 2008 Toyota Scion XB.
As deputies approached a residence in the 2000 block of West San Bernardino Avenue, in the unincorporated area of Fontana, they made contact with Juan Ornelas. Ornelas was arrested without incident, transported and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for Robbery.
The items used in the robbery and the stolen money were recovered.
