INCIDENT: FATAL TRAFFIC COLLISION

LOCATION: SECOND AVE/BEAR VALLEY RD, HESPERIA

VICTIM: 26 YEAR-OLD MALE RESIDENT OF VICTORVILLE

Summary

On Friday, April 22, 2016 at approximately 2:19 a.m., Deputies of the Victorville and Hesperia Sheriff’s Stations responded to a report of a major collision involving a motorcycle and a truck in the area of Second Ave. and Bear Valley Rd., in the City of Hesperia.

Deputies arrived to find the motorcycle rider had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Through investigation it was learned that a 2007 Chevy Tahoe and a 2014 Yamaha sportbike motorcycle were both heading eastbound on Bear Valley Rd. The motorcycle collided with the rear of the Chevy Tahoe near Second Ave., launching the motorcycle and it’s rider onto the curb on the north side of the road, next to westbound Bear Valley Rd. traffic. The Tahoe driver did not suffer any injuries in this collision.

Hesperia Sheriff’s Station Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) are conducting an investigation of this collision. Bear Valley Rd. is closed between Hesperia Rd. and Second Ave., as well as all driveways along this stretch of roadway. MAIT investigators expect to have the investigation wrapped up and roadways reopened by approximately noon.
