INCIDENT: TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN IDENTITY THEFT INVESTIGATION LOCATION: 15000 BLOCK OF MOJAVE ST, HESPERIA SUSPECT(S): BUCK OLIVER OTINE, AGE 36 OF HESPERIA TIACENE SIRRELL MACK (OTINE), AGE 38 OF HESPERIA

Summary

On Saturday, February 6, 2016 at approximately 9:09 a.m., Deputies of the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of identity theft. The victim reported receiving harassing phone calls from creditors about debts they had never established, but were in their name. Through investigation deputies were able to trace some of the fraudulent activity back to an address in the 15000 block of Mojave St., Hesperia.On Monday, February 8, 2016 at approximately 1:14 p.m., a search warrant was served at the suspects’ residence. Credit cards in the victim’s name were located in the home. Deputies also located altered checks, credit cards and two trashcans full of mail belonging to other victims.   Both suspects, Buck Otine and Tiacene Mack (Otine) were arrested and booked at HDDC on charges of PC182(a)(1)- Conspiracy to commit a crime, PC470(a)-Felony forgery, PC475(a)-Possession of fraudulent checks and PC530.5(a)- Obtaining credit in another person’s identity.  Citizens can help protect themselves from becoming a victim of these kinds of crime by doing the following:  1)Retrieve mail from your mailbox as soon as possible. 2)Consider getting a P.O.
