INCIDENT: PC 245C, Brandishing a Knife at Peace Officers

 
 
LOCATION: 7000 block of Victoria Ave in the City of Highland

 
 
SUSPECT(S): Frank Chavez, 28, a resident of Highland and Elaine Lujan, 26, a resident of Highland

 
 
VICTIM(S): Highland Deputies

Summary

Highland Deputies responded to an apartment complex for a dispute between Frank Chavez and his girlfriend, Elaine Lujan. Chavez had armed himself with two kitchen knives and confronted Deputies in the stairwell of his apartment. Chavez did not want to go to jail and threatened to hurt the Deputies. The Deputies talked with Chavez for quite some time in the stairwell to get him to put down the knifes. They were able to convince him to disarm himself and surrender without anyone getting hurt. Chavez was arrested and booked at Central Detention Center and is being held on $50,000 bail. Lujan was arrested, booked, and cite released at Central Detention Center for PC 148, Obstruction.
