INCIDENT: CVC 2800.2; Failure to Yield

CVC 10851; Stolen Vehicle

LOCATION: Highland California

SUSPECT(S): Matthew Torres, 23 years old

Nicholas Konikow, 19 years old 


On Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 7:39 p.m. deputies responded to the area of Victoria Avenue & Baseline Street regarding a stolen vehicle. Deputies located the vehicle as it was traveling through the area and attempted a traffic stop, however the driver failed to yield. A pursuit ensued which traversed the city streets of Highland, San Bernardino, Rialto, Fontana and Colton. The driver eventually pulled into a parking lot where the vehicle was boxed in and both occupants were taken into custody.


Matthew Torres was the driver of the stolen vehicle and is on probation for Grand Theft Auto. The passenger was identified as Nicholas Konikow and had an active felony warrant.
