INCIDENT: Felony Child Endangerment, Parole Violation, Possession/Use of Nitrous Oxide
LOCATION: Central Ave and 13th St, Highland CA
SUSPECT(S): Paul Dominguez, 23, and Alicia Duarte, 24, both residents of Highland
On Saturday, February 13, 2016, at approximately 4:09 p.m., Highland Deputies responded to the report of a head on traffic collision. One of the drivers, Paul Dominguez, and his passenger, Alicia Duarte, were found to be under the influence of an inhalant. A nitrous oxide canister was found in the vehicle. Dominguez and Duarte were inhaling nitrous oxide from the canister just before the collision. Dominguez’ child and another juvenile were passengers in the vehicle. Both juveniles sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital. Dominguez was arrested and booked at the Central Detention Center for felony child endangerment, possession/use of nitrous oxide and violation of parole. Duarte was arrested felony child endangerment, possession/use of nitrous oxide, and was later released. Children and Family Services was notified and is conducting an additional investigation.
