INCIDENT: Identity Theft / Possession of Stolen Property / Mail Theft

LOCATION: Weaver St. / Bright Spot Rd., City of Highland

SUSPECT(S): Jennie You, 27, resident of Murrieta

Lorenzo Brambila, 22, resident of San Bernardino


On February 12, 2016, in response to recent residential mail thefts, Highland Deputies were conducting extra patrol in the eastern portion of the city. At 4:00 a.m., deputies stopped a black Ford Focus for a vehicle code violation near the intersection of Weaver St. and Bright Spot Rd. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were identified as You and Brambila.A records check showed You to be on active County Probation and driving on a suspended license.


During a search of the vehicle, deputies located hundreds of pieces of stolen mail, stolen credit cards, stolen and fake social security cards, stolen and forged checks, counterfeit US currency and computer equipment to create false documents. You was also in possession of notebooks containing hundreds of names, social security numbers, birthdates and addresses of potential victims. The vehicle also contained pry bars and tools, which investigators believe were used to gain access to community mailboxes.


You and Brambila were arrested and booked at Sheriff’s Central Detention Center on charges of Identity Theft, Forgery and Possession of Stolen Property. Additionally, You was charged with a probation violation.
