INCIDENT: PC 368 (B)(1) – Elder abuse
LOCATION: 7000 Block of Lynwood, Highland
SUSPECT: 13-year-old male
VICTIM: 80-year-old female
Summary
On Monday, July 25, 2016, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Highland deputies received a report from Adult Protective Services (APS) in reference to an elderly female being assaulted by a thirteen-year-old male.
After making contact with the victim, deputies discovered that on Wednesday, July 17, 2016 at approximately 9:25 p.m., the victim walked outside to her front yard and discovered the suspect, who she described as a neighbor kid, arguing with his sister. The victim asked the suspect and his sister to stop fighting in front of her residence. The suspect then picked up a brick from her front yard and threw it at her, striking her in the leg, causing a significant injury that required treatment at the hospital. After the victim was assaulted, the suspect picked up another brick and shattered the victim’s vehicle window.
The 13-year-old was arrested and booked at Juvenile Hall for Elder Abuse.
