INCIDENT: Vehicle VS Pedestrian Collision/Petty Theft

LOCATION: Baseline Street/ McKinley Avenue, Highland

SUSPECT(S): Unknown

VICTIM:72 year old female

Summary

On April 12, 2016, deputies from the Highland Station responded to a vehicle vs pedestrian collision in the area of Baseline Street and McKinley Avenue. Deputies located a 72 year old female laying in the center of the roadway with several citizens gathered around. The female had minor visible injuries but was confused as to how the collision occurred. The driver of the involved vehicle had stopped and provided deputies with all required information. It was determined the pedestrian was unsafely crossing the roadway when she was struck by the other vehicle.

 

It was later discovered the pedestrian’s purse was stolen as she laid in the roadway. The suspect(s) stole cash, credit cards, and her identification.
