Mariah Christine Palacios, 22 year old female, resident of La Puente

On March 28, 2016, at approximately 09:00 AM, Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Central Station (Loma Linda Police), responded to a call regarding a mail theft in progess. Two females were later positively identified as the suspects in this case. Cindy Denise Miranda, a parolee at large and her accomplice Mariah Christine Palacios.
A witness observed both suspects enter a driveway at one residence where they stole two victims mail. Palacios then walked across the street and acted as a lookout while Miranda went to another residence and stole ten more pieces of mail from two additional victims. The residents at the second home witnessed the crime and called 911. An off duty deputy was also alerted and chased the females, identified himself and detained the suspects until Loma Linda Deputies arrived. Miranda was found to have a no bail warrant for parole violation and Palacios had an active warrant for shoplifting.In addition to a large number of stolen mail, the suspects were also in possesion of a large amount of stolen property, credit cards, ID cards, and credit card numbers. Deputies also located a quantity heroin and paraphernalia in Miranda’s purse.
During the booking processs, Palacios was found to be in possession of marijuana and Miranda was found to be in possession of a bag of methamphetamine hidden in her body cavity.
Miranda and Palacios were booked at Central Detention Center on several felony charges and had a no bail parole hold placed on Miranda.
