Wednesday, November 16, 2016
Deputies and Detectives from the Central Station/Loma Linda Police Department conducted an extensive investigation into the theft of two parrots, Fred and Ghost, stolen from their home in Loma Linda on November 11, 2016. With the assistance of information from local citizens and the news media for informing the public of this theft, Deputies and Detectives have arrested two suspects and returned the birds to their owners.
On Tuesday, November 15, 2016, Sheriff’s Central Station Detectives received a phone call from a concerned citizen reference the possible location of the two stolen parrots. The citizen saw the story on social media and wanted to help. The information led investigators to the 170 block of E. 9th Street in San Bernardino. During contact at this address, detectives spoke with Yesenia Castro and recoverd one of the stolen parrots. The investgation continued to a second address in Bloomington where the second parrot “Fred” was recovered. Detectives arrested Fabian Constantino in Bloomington and both he and Castro were transported to the Central station for interviews. As a result of their interviews, both were arrested for PC487 and booked into the Central Detetion Center without incident.
At the conclusion of this investigation, both parrots were reunited with their owner and are doing well.
The booking photos of the suspects are being released as deputies believe they may be involved in additional thefts in an around the Loma Linda area.
