INCIDENT: Residential Robbery

LOCATION: 25000 block of Lane St., Loma Linda

VICTIM: Confidential – 82 year old male

SUSPECT: 17 year old male

Summary

On Monday, March 21, 2016 at 9:31 p.m. deputies were summoned by hospital personnel in regard to a patient being the victim of a crime. Deputies responded and found that the 82 year old victim was beaten in his home during a residential robbery earlier that evening. Deputies determined the suspect entered the home through a window and the victim was awakened. The suspect and victim were involved in a struggle and the suspect struck the victim in the head and neck several times with an unknown type of weapon. The suspect took several electronic/personal items from the victim and fled.

As a result of the assault, the victim suffered lacerations to his head and has been left with a tracheotomy and is unable to communicate.

On Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 1:00 a.m. Highland deputies were investigating a Burglary, Evading and Traffic Collision and arrested three juveniles for the crimes. During their investigation, they determined that a 17 year old male from Highland was a suspect in the Loma Linda Residential Robbery. The juvenile was released to Loma Linda Detectives for booking.
