INCIDENT: Parolee at Large Wanted Armed and Danger/PC 29800(A) Felon in Possession of a Firearm

LOCATION: Barton Road and Mountain View Avenue, Loma Linda

SUSPECT(S): Gregory Briones (27) and Nancy Palafox (22), San Bernardino residents

VICTIM(S): State of California

Summary

On November 18, 2016, at approximately 10:28 a.m., sheriff’s dispatch received a call saying they saw a Hispanic male with a barrel of a gun sticking out of his jacket, near Barton Road and Mountain View Avenue. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Central Station, Loma Linda Police, responded to look for him.
  
Deputies found a car related to the incident parked at the Chevron Gas Station. A Hispanic female and three kids were inside the car. Deputy Reyes spoke with the female, Nancy Palafox, she said her boyfriend, Gregory Briones, was inside. Briones walked out of the Chevron Station, looked at Reyes, and ran through the parking lot. Deputy L. Mendoza arrived and chased after Briones.
  
During the foot pursuit, a loaded 45 caliber Revolver fell out of Briones’ waistband. Mendoza took Briones into custody without incident.
 
Briones was found to be a wanted armed and dangerous parolee at large. Briones was had methamphetamine for sales while armed. A child abuse investigation was conducted and both Briones and Palafox will be charged with child endangerment. Palafox knew Briones had the gun, and she also had methamphetamine and a meth pipe. Briones and Palafox were transported to West Valley Detention Center.
  
Briones was booked for PC 29800(A) Felon in Possession of a Firearm, HS 11370.1 (A) Possession of Methamphetamine While Armed, HS 11378 Methamphetamine Sales and PC 273(A) Child Endangerment. Palafox was booked for HS 11377(A) Possession of Methamphetamine, HS 11364(a) Drug Paraphernalia and PC 273(A) Child Endangerment.
