INCIDENT: Residential Burglary / Search Warrant
LOCATION: 5000 block of Center Ave, Joshua Tree
63000 block of Tileford Way, Joshua Tree
SUSPECT: Anthony Smith, 50 years old, resident of Joshua Tree
Summary
On Wednesday, November 2, 2016 deputies were dispatched to a residence on Center Ave reference an audible alarm; a door at the residence was found forced open. As deputies arrived on scene, a vehicle was seen fleeing the location and that vehicle was located a short time later on Tileford Way. A search warrant was obtained for the Tileford address and a large amount of stolen property was recovered. The stolen property is related to several reported burglaries. Evidence was located at the Tileford address that led to the arrest of Anthony Smith.
Smith was transported and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for Burglary, Accessory, Grand Theft and Receiving Stolen Property with bail set at $75,000.00.
