INCIDENT: Attempted Murder

LOCATION: 1900W. Needles Highway, Needles, CA

SUSPECT(S): John Garcia, age 41, a resident of Mohave Valley, AZ

JacobKnox. age 39, a resident of Las Vegas, NV

Unknown Hispanic or Indian male approximately 38-40 years old

VICTIM(S): Confidential


On Saturday January 30, 2016, at approximately 11:30 p.m., a fight broke out at Route 66 bar in Needles. During the fight an unknown Hispanic or Indian male struck the victim on the back of the head with a glass botttle. The vicitm was knocked unconscious immediately and fell to the floor. While lying motionless on the floor John Garcia and Jacob Knox kickedthe victim’s head. The victim’s girlfriend and friends continually attempted to fend off Garcia and Knox but the two continued to kick the victim in the head. While attempting to protect the victim, one of the friends fell to the floor and Garcia kicked him several times, rendering him unconscious as well. The three suspects left the bar prior to the deputies arrival. The victim was flown toSunrise Medical Center in las Vegas, NV for treatment and is in critical condition. On February 9, 2016, Jacob Knox was located by Needles Detectives in Las Vegas, NV with the help of the Las Vegas Metro Police Dept and arrested without incident. He was booked on a fugitive warrant for attempted murder into the Clark County jail. John Garcia was located and arrested by Needles Detectives in the City of Needles for attempted murder without incident and booked into the Needles jail. The third suspect has not been identified. He is described as a Hispanic or Native Indian male. He is approximatley 38-40 years old, 5’08” to 5’10” tall and 200 pounds. He has long black hair and is possibly a truck driver. He identified himself as “Manuel” the night of the incident.
