INCIDENT: HS 11379 Possession of a Controlled Substance For Sale

LOCATION: Bazoobuth/ Palm Way, Needles, Ca.

SUSPECT(S): Edward Lyle Johanknecht, age 43 of Needles
Bradley Underwood, age 29 of Needles

Summary

On Saturday August 20, 2016 at approximately 5:07 pm, deputies from the Needles Police Department conducted a traffic enforcement stop at the intersection of Bazoobuth and Palm Way in the City of Needles. During the stop deputies discovered the passenger, Bradley Underwood, was on felony probation. The driver, Edward Johanknecht and Underwood, were detained for further investigation. During a search of Johanknecht’s vehicle, two plastic containers of suspected methamphetamines weighing approximately 12grams was located in Johanknecht’s back pack, along with a scale and $283.00 in cash.

Upon conclusion of the investigation, it was determined Johanknecht was suspected of selling narcotics. Johanknecht was susequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Needles Jail. His bail was set at $100,000. Underwood was booked for a probation violation and has no bail.
