INCIDENT: Child Abuse

SUSPECT: Amanda Blaylock, 27 years old, resident of Phelan

On Monday, November 28, 2016 the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Phelan Sub-station received an immediate response referral from Division of Children and Family Services regarding abuse to two children.
Deputy Wendy Perea responded to the school where the two older children attended and made contact with them. Through her investigation, Deputy Perea learned the suspected abuse was caused by their mother, Amanda Blaylock. The two children and younger sibling, ages 9, 6 and 1, were removed from the home and placed in the care of Children and Family Services. The injuries the children received did not require medical attention.
Amanda Blaylock was later contacted at the school and arrested on charges of child abuse. Blaylock was booked at High Desert Detention Center where she is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
On November 30, 2016 the Victorville District Attorney’s Office filed two felony counts of child abuse against Blaylock.
