INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision

LOCATION: Cherry Avenue / I-15 Freeway Overpass, Rancho Cucamonga

DRIVER: Unidentified White male adult, driving a silver, 2007 Chevrolet minivan

Summary

On Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at about 7:37 p.m., a silver Chevrolet minivan was driving south on Cherry Avenue from Wilson approaching Summit Avenue. For unknown reasons, the driver crossed the double yellow line and drifted into the center median. The driver’s side front of the vehicle impacted a concrete freeway overpass pillar causing the vehicle to roll and eject the driver. The vehicle caught fire and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The identification of the driver is not being released pending next of kin notification.
