INCIDENT: Missing Person

LOCATION: 6500 block of Ash Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga

VICTIM(S): Jay Ishimoto, 48 year old Japanese male, 5’3,” 173 pounds, gray hair, brown eyes


On July 19, 2016, at approximately 3:46 p.m., a deputy from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to a residence in the 6500 block of Ash Avenue regarding a missing person report. The deputy was advised by a family member that Jay Ishimoto packed a bag of personal belongings and left his residence on the evening of July 18th at approximately 7:00 p.m. He left his residence driving a gray 2014 Toyota Prius with California License Plate 7FBR852. The vehicle has damage to the rear bumper.


Mr. Ishimoto told his wife he would travel through Barstow on his way to Las Vegas, NV. Mr. Ishimoto recently had knee surgery and has difficulty walking. He may need medical treatment due to the recent surgery. Mr. Ishimoto’s family is concerned for his well being as he made statements prior to leaving that lead them to believe, he may want to harm himself.


The Rancho Cucamonga Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Mr. Ishimoto. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Matthew Gordon at (909) 477-2886 or Sheriff’s dispatch at (909) 941-1488. If you see Mr. Ishimoto please contact your local law enforcement agency immediately.
