Summary

On January 13th, 2016 at approximately 2:37 p.m., Deputy Pedersen from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a U-Haul truck near the intersection of Arrow Route and Comet Street. Deputy Pedersen located mail packages and other property inside of the U-Haul truck that was found to be stolen. Pedersen developed information which connected the occupants of the U-Haul to a stolen Chevrolet Impala, but it’s whereabouts were unknown at the time. Daniel Berry and Ransom Sidney were arrested for possession of stolen property and were driven to the Rancho Cucamonga Police Station for questioning.

Rancho Cucamonga Police Department Detectives and the Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) obtained information linking the stolen Chevrolet Impala to several subjects staying at a Motel 8 in Ontario. Detectives and MET learned one of the subjects renting the motel room was on felony probation. A search of the motel room revealed illegal drugs and several people with active warrants; however, no new information about the whereabouts of the Chevrolet Impala. Brian Gratson was arrested for possession of cocaine, Tashnika Smith was arrested for warrants and Brittany Dupree, who had her child in the motel room, was arrested for child endangerment. All three were booked at the West Valley Detention Center.

Detectives received additional information on the possible whereabouts of the stolen Chevrolet Impala, and through diligent police work, located the stolen Chevrolet Impala in Upland. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the stolen Chevy Impala and arrested Jennive Nava for possession of a stolen vehicle. In total six subjects were arrested during this 10-hour operation.
