Summary
On Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at approximately 3:08 PM, the victim called 911 reporting a Hispanic male adult, later identified as Lopez, confronted him in the store parking lot over a parking dispute. Lopez brandished the firearm during the dispute with the victim and fled the incident location in a white Chevy Colorado.
Deputies assigned to the Central Station responded with the assistance of Sheriff’s Aviation – 40 King. Lopez was located driving the vehicle near the intersection of Mt. Vernon & 17th Street in the City of San Bernardino, and a felony traffic stop was conducted. Lopez was detained and taken into custody without further incident. A stolen Glock 9MM pistol was located inside the vehicle with several magazines loaded with ammunition. Lopez was discovered to be on active felony probation for a Vehicle Hit and Run with Injury. He was arrested for the above charges and booked at the Central Detention Center. Lopez’ photograph is being released to the public due to detectives believing there are other victims he has threatened with the weapon.
