DATE/TIME OF RELEASE: March 11, 2016 at 5:30 A.M.

LOCATION: 18000 block of Jonathan Street, Adelanto

INCIDENT: Fire Injury

VICTIM:7 year old male

Summary

On Friday, March 11, 2016, at approximately 5:30 a.m., deputies from the Adelanto Station and the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the 18000 block of Jonathan Street for a burned child. The victim, a seven year old male, had third degree burns on his chest, neck and face from his clothing being on fire. The victim claimed he was taking out the trash and an unknown suspect set him on fire.

 

Detectives from the Adelanto Station and San Bernardino County Bombs and Arson responded to assist with the investigation. Investigators determined the victim woke up before his family and was playing with a lighter and caught his own clothing on fire. The victim was flown to a nearby hospital for treatment.
