INCIDENT: Felony Evading Peace Officer

LOCATION: Victorville

SUSPECT(S): Randal Martinez, age 31, a resident of Victorville

Summary

On February 23, 2016, Deputy Browsowske, from the Victorville Police Department, attempted a traffic stop in the area ofTrinidad Drive and Rockford Drive in Victorville. The vehicle, a 1997 Honda sedan, driven by Randal Martinez, matched the description of an earlier call of shots heard in the area.

 

The suspect, Randal Martinez, failed to yeild to Deputy Browsowske who was in a marked patrol car, utilizing overhead lights and sirens. The suspect led deputies on a seven minute pursuit through Victorville. During the pursuit deputies observed Martinez throwing items from the vehicle which, they were unable to recover. The suspect reached speeds up to 90 miles per hour and failed to stop at several intersections before crashing into a curb and disabling the vehicle at 7th Street and Mojave Drive.

 

Martinez was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for Evading a Peace Officer. He is scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on February 25th.
