Summary
On August 31, 2016, Deputy Olivas from the Victorville Police Department, investigated an extortion case involving a stolen cell phone. The victim reported her boyfriend’s phone had been lost at a local business and she received texts messages from an unknown person saying they had the phone. The person threatened to release personal information and photographs, via social media, if the victim did not pay a large sum of money for the return of the phone.
Deputy Olivas, with the assistance of detectives, did an undercover sting operation, that lead to the arrest of Terrera Hall and Juanniesha Dandy, who had the stolen cell phone. Through investigation, detectives arrested Nydia Arreola and Mario Hall for the theft, as well as conspiracy and extortion.
